Description
Anyone who knows this area will know how spoilt we are for beautiful locations to draw and paint. Spending time outdoors drawing from observation means seeing and noticing in ways we wouldn’t otherwise. This class will be spent in beautiful locations close to the studio or in the printroom or painting studio when the weather is unfavourable! When outside there will be an emphasis on how to capture the mood and atmosphere of a place, the weather and experience of being immersed in nature. When in the studio we will be working from sketchbooks and photos. We will use a wide variety of materials ranging from watercolour to oil paint and pallette knives to mud and sticks! In the print room we will be using processes such as monoprinting, collagraph and drypoint . This course is suitable for everyone from those that have never drawn at all to experienced landscape painters. All basic materials are included but if you have any favourite materials you are welcome to bring them. If you have to miss a class you are welcome to join another weekly session instead.

The ‘Experimental Landscapes’ is a fantastic course for all levels of experience. Friendly, welcoming and supportive classes enable you to learn and develop your own style alongside others. Working in both the studio and outdoors provides a range of creative inspiration. Rosy is a great teacher. I can’t wait for the next class to start

A companionable and stimulating 6 days course where we tried our hands at various techniques and approaches. We were supported and encouraged throughout. Walden Arts is a wonderful and welcome new initiative for Cardigan and I look forward to the next encounter.
