Walden Arts is excited to announce we will be holding our first exhibition on the top floor of The Old Sail Loft! The theme is ‘Annwn’ – the otherworld of welsh mythology, but we also invite artists to interpret the theme of ‘otherworlds’ more broadly. The show will coincide with Other Voices festival in Cardigan but also Samhain when the veil between the worlds is at its thinnest! A handful of artists have been invited whose work we feel fits the theme and who are regulars of the studio. We have decided to also open it up as an open call as we are excited to see the varied responses to the theme. We realise this is quite short notice for a call out and are not expecting any specific works to be made specially, unless you have something in mind and have the time. The exhibition will run from Thursday 31st of October to Sunday 3rd of November from 10am – 6pm with an opening evening on Wednesday 30th October with live musical performances designed to facilitate the journey across the threshold! Works must be wall mounted and no larger than A3 (297 x 420mm). Submissions of works will be restricted to three per artist, depending on size. We can’t promise to put everything up but we will promise to hang at least one work per artist.
