Drypoint Collagraph

Description

In this process we use a combination of drypoint and collagraph techniques on an environmount plate. We can draw with an etching needle to create fine line work or cut and tear away the glossy surface to reveal the rough card textures underneath. We then use a combination of etching and monoprinting inking techniques to further develop the image. Though that may all sound rather complicated this is actually a really easy, fun and fast printing technique. Suitable for all abilities including total newbies to the print room.  This is a great method for taking drawings out of your sketchbook and turning them into beautiful prints ready to hang on your living room wall or in the gallery!
